| Autotype helps photographers of the future | The Arts Institute in Bournemouth Foundation Degree in Professional Photography class of 2004 has recently staged an exhibition of work, sponsored by Autotype International, in the Vertigo Gallery, London. Called Thirteen, the exhibition formed an instrumental part of the students’ final year project and used large format digital print.
As the sponsors of the event, Autotype worked closely with the students in order to help them achieve the large format prints of their photographic work for the exhibition. This experience is invaluable to the students as they were involved in the decision making and printing processes, and gained a deeper knowledge of the use of display materials for their photographs.
The thirteen photography students who took part in the exhibition have worked with some of the finest photography professionals within the industry and Thirteen aims to represent the fresh and diverse approach of the next generation of European professional photographers.
In addition to forming part of the students’ final projects, the exhibition itself was also an excellent opportunity for them to demonstrate their capabilities to the entire photographic and graphic arts industry, including potential employers.
Laura Bullmore, International Sales Manager at Autotype, said, ‘Last year’s event was such a success that we decided to continue our sponsorship this year. All of the students are of a very high calibre and it has been a pleasure to work with them and to provide them with materials for this important project.’
The students’ work and further information regarding the exhibition can be seen on www.thirteen2004.com. |
